Federal Council holds hospitals accountable

The Federal Council wants to improve medication safety for children. In the future, hospitals will be required to use a clinical decision support tool to calculate individual patient dosages for children. In its message on the revision of the Therapeutic Products Act, the Federal Council states: The introduction of the mandatory use of a clinical decision support tool to calculate drug dosages in paediatrics is an essential and innovative step towards increasing medication safety, especially for the most vulnerable patients.
